Sleep stages are divided into two main categories: non-REM sleep and REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, where dreams typically occur. Over the course of the night a sleeper will cycle through the five stages of sleep a number of times with the REM stages lasting longer and longer towards morning.

Are you sleepy during the day? From what I read, such symptoms could also be related to narcolepsy.
It is also possible you are experiencing psychic visions. It might be worth doing some further research with Uncle Google to discover possible reasons you are experiencing this phenomenon.
Let us know if you find anything interesting!
Hi Mystic Fire
Thanks for the information I will do more research on this. This doesn't happen when I'm going to sleep It happens when I'm at work and I'm awake. It just happens randomly I can see it happening when I'm going to bed or when I wake up but when I'm awake. I noticed it started happening heavily in the year of 1997. Thank you for your help.
Greetings, Artistfuture,
I also see random slideshows of people/places I have never seen before, but it generally happens as I am falling asleep.
From what I've seen on the Internet, it is a common experience for other people, too.
Experts call this phenomenon 'Hypnagogic' (occurring during the transition from wakefulness to sleep) and 'Hypnopompic' (occurring during the transition from sleep to wakefulness) hallucinations. It can encompass not only visual, but tactile, auditory, and other sensory events, as well.
Hello Everyone I'm been lucid dreaming for a long time and I did not no what it was. I always seem to see vision of people I never meet before. I call them visions because I would be awake and all of a sudden I see these images of people and places as though I'm watching film. I don't know how to control it they just happens randomly. Well hope to get some answers in how to better control these dreams. Thank You All
Hi Neffertiti..Mystic fire was absolutely right. The first step is writing down your dreams even if its just only a couple of lines at first..This is the first step in Giving attention to your astral self and once you start giving that attention the connection will eventually be made. :-)
One thing you can do along with Writing down your dreams is to practice doing REALITY CHECKS every hour on the hour. I personally started out this way and i Can now proudly say It truly works it really helped me out of crazzy Situations only to realize it was just a dream! lol..I've have hundreds of O.b.e's Now, actually had one this morning! :-) and On my Journey i met fellow lucid dreamers( which normally doesnt happen for me) so now I know the portal is truly open! But here's a lil secret i've learned so far that really worked for me and still does! better than Anything ive seen on the net so far..its so simple and so sweet..find any mirror in your home and simply talk to your reflection...but the key is to imagine as if that reflection is your higher self and is listening to every word you say with crystal clear clarity..Ask your Higher self to wake up in your dreams, plead to Her if you have to, the more Emotion the better..Emotion is Energy in Motion so the message will have some fire behind it...be open and really really deeply believe she's listening and will grant your Wish...Smile Alot! :-) before you fall asleep lie down clear your mind of the day's activities, set your intention to have more control over your dreams and to become lucid..repeat your statement over and over until you feel is embedded in your mind...Keep trying until you get it and remember to be patient with yourself. :-) Happy Dreams to you hope this helps!
We sure are! :-)~
:) we're tappin in to the mainframe..uh huh ;)
Okay, now you are just freaking me out Daniel! That song came to my mind yesterday for no apparent reason... and here it is! lol. So weird!!
Welcome to the group.
The definition of symbols found within dreams can differ amongst dreamers, depending upon what each symbol means to each person, personally. Of course, some symbols are more universally accepted amongst the masses than others, but even the definition of universal symbols can differ somewhat between people.
I think the best way to get to the root of your own dream is to ask yourself what 'twins' means to you, and examine the symbol in light of recent events occurring in your life.
It isn't uncommon to feel a presence (usually ominous) nor a weight upon one's chest during sleep paralysis. It's depicted in Henry Fuseli's 1781 painting entitled 'The Nightmare.'
The first step in exploring your dreams further is to remember them. Most people begin with a dream diary. You may want to keep a notebook and flashlight by your bedside. Immediately upon awakening from a dream, record it. Do not delay, for dreams can be forgotten very quickly.
Good luck.
Anyone else have any advice for Nefertiti? :-)
