For the distiller the citric acid is what is used when cleaning frequently,when the distiller gets a thick film or crust of minerals that are difficult to remove use oxalic acid powder in hot water solution and let it soak overnite.This also works for cleaning stainless steel coffee makers and I use it to clean quartz crystals which tend to have an iron oxide reddish film on them when they come out of the earth.Here in Arizona the water has lots of alkali minerals and my stovetop distiller gets crusty quite frequently so I have to use the oxalic acid.Wholeness David
