IN ACTION
Wholeness and Balance Vibrations to everyone it is a great time! We have reached the second phase of our site overhaul which allows us to release recent restrictions on Forum posting. We will be utilizing the Ning Forum Post Approval Feature just recently installed so we ask members to take a look at the new requirements for Forum Posting listed below. In addition, you will also find a copy paste from an email sent to me by Ning in regards to new network features recently installed just so you are aware. If you have any new ideas on incorporating these features in conjunction with the Resistance Site, just let us know. We have about 1 more month of development and then we are launching our next powerful phase.
Posting Requirements -
Make it cohesive: We ask members not to post the one line "check this out" posts. If it is a video you can place it in the video section and if it is a link to information on another site, save your Family some time and copy and paste the entire article while including the source.
The Resistance is not a crazy house, if your posts are extremely ungrounded they will be removed and you will be given advice about proper grounding. Above all our duty is to make sense of all of this in order to assist others and remain cohesive through the everquest.
Is it Universal? We have now identified a Universal System that is redundant throughout the Universe. Even though it will take a great deal of time to explain it all, if that is even possible, all information should still adhere to this System if it is accurate. To get more familiar with this Universal System especially from a astronomical standpoint we will be providing many links in the future. We do suggest now that you take a look at the Occult Systems Group in order to gain more bearing on the subject matter.
Do not be a Disinformant: We have no choice but to check information submitted for the act of disinformation, however, save us all some time and check your bases thoroughly before making an unnecessary ripple effect whether on the site or anywhere else.
I thank you for taking the time to absorb these instructions.
Sevan
These protocols will be updated from time to time but will help us all in proving a quality organic whole experience.

1. Member Categories + Badges
The new Member Categories feature has already been adopted by a lot of Network Creators, who are using it to reward members with higher-status designations and unique badges on avatars. Some folks are using it to filter and send messages just to the members of a custom category. Two more options were added last week: 1) automatically assign members to a category upon sign-up using Profile Questions and 2) use member categories in conjunction with Paid Access to (for example) encourage members to donate a higher amount and be rewarded with a special badge. Try these out if you haven't already!

2. The New Chat
In case you missed it, we revamped the Ning Chat feature in a huge way. We brought the new chat out of beta at the beginning of the year, but we've added a few more details since that initial release, including a volume control for alert notifications and the ability to clear out conversations in public and private chats. If you haven't tried out the new chat, give it a go. It's far superior to the old Flash-based chat and even works well on most mobile phones.

3. More Activity Feed Improvements
One of our most requested projects of 2011 was a complete revamp of the Activity Feed. It has since been the driver of engagement for many networks. This project keeps chugging along in 2012 with added improvements, including a visual clean-up to make the Activity Feed cleaner and neater. Some of the most recent additions like Top News and Social Feeds are still in beta; you can try them out from the Ning Labs section of your dashboard.
|
3 neat, new things in the Activity Feed
1. |
Want to put Twitter search results in your Activity Feed? We've included a search field that scours Twitter and returns relevant results, either for a search term or a hashtag. Neat! |
2. |
We added a "new activity" indicator. No need to refresh the page to see what's happening. Now, whenever new items are ready for the Activity Feed, you'll see a button that you can simply push to refresh the feed. E-Z! |
3. |
If there's an RSS-based news feed that you just know all of your members follow, put that RSS Feed directly in the Activity Feed. You can put up to three feeds in there, and they will update whenever those feeds update. Need some examples of how you might use this? Check out the examples in the product announcement. |

4. Optional Forum Moderation
We added a new feature that not too many Network Creators will want to adopt, but for those that do, it fulfills a huge request they've asked of Ning over time — to be able to moderate all forum discussions and approve or reject them before they're made public.

Currently in Alpha: Mobile Improvements
We're hard at work on improvements to the mobile interface. Right now, this project is in an alpha phase, which means it's not ready for Network Creators to start using, but we'll move it into a beta phase before too long. We know that many of you are excited to try it out before its official launch. Until we release the beta version, you can get a first look at mobile improvements by visiting the Creators Network on your mobile phone. Want more details? Check out the mobile "first look" post.

What's next in 2012?
|
We're hard at work on our 2012 Product Roadmap. We recently added a few planned improvements to the Forum feature, which will surely be useful for networks that are big on conversation. We'll keep adding to the Product Roadmap over time! |
