Within my immediate family involving my husband, myself, oldest daughter, middle son, and a freind of his. We have been experiencing very detailed dreams in which we share the dream together and sometimes are aware of each other in the dream. We have spoken with intuitive mediums, and have researched many books and lectures regarding shared dreams with little comments and information on the subject. This has been going on for about a year. They are not scary, but are sometimes very emotional, and sometimes just playful. I could write alot as I keep a dream journal, but it is too much to go into here. I will say one particular dream involved a deceased teenager we all knew who passed many years ago he was happy and myself and my son had the same involvement with him in the dream on the same night, very detailed and we enjoyed it seeing him again. If anyone has a direction on information or opinions on it I would welcome input. We have researched enough to have a decent grasp on lucidity and different techniques to achieve it, as well as some OBE experiences.

Hi kelly this sounds fascinating I have only had a couple of shared dreams to date, although I have had many non shared ones.
Can you share some of that knowledge you are speaking about, as this aspect fascinates me.
I believe we are in the collective mind in this state of being and the linking with others, may have been a normality (common sense) way back in our distant past.

I find it fascinating that most psychiatrist/psychologist will tell you that lucid dreams are just your mind working things out or just wandering through the creative process, which in and of itself makes sense to me. But when confronted with shared dreams they have no anwsers or even reasonable/common sense explanations as there has been no studies, at least from my researching into this area. Lots of suggestions on how to induce lucid states, and even OBE's. I often use a and self speak/mind quieting technique anything from Robert Monroes process using a box you put thoughts into then going into a mental exercise like chakra cleansing repeatedly, or focused muscle relaxation to the point of the lead blanket aka sleep paralysis, once that is achieved I will focus on the paralysis vibrating up and down till I hear bells or gongs or rushing in ears. now at that point it gets dicey as to whether I enter a lucid dream or pop out into a OBE it varies greatly majority of the time I end up in a dream . A few times I have sucessfully used the twist and cap technique after the bells focusing my body to lift up and turn in a 180 degrees. I am still working on consistency but it is very difficult to get consistent OBE's and that is my ultimate goal. The small group is trying to get on the same level of techniques that will work for each of us, but it is difficult aas we all have lives to live and it takes an amount of energy to focus on this specific task. I suggest a dream log with about 30 dreams logged, during this time write 4 things cpmpletely random baseball, pen, red car whatever abd the idea is when you see them if you happen to you are trtying to remember the items on the list, then when you get a good amount of sdreams logged you look for repeat things in the dreams that are indicicators you are in a dream like maybe a upside down painting you noticed in several dreams or a person or a scenery. The trying to remember 4 items will strengthen your ability to recognize the oddities in a dream and allow you to recognize when you are lucid. similar to thje shamans training to look at your hands when dreaming, although that one has been very difficult for me
Great post By The way Kelly! its crazy that your trying the twist and cap tecnique it very similar to the one i'm using.
First i used the "wake back to Bed Method" i found out About from Lucidology 101 thati found by searching Google. I make sure i get at Least 4 and a half to 5 hours of normal sleepand Vivid dreams before i Attempt My obe. This works everytime i do it Ive logged over 200 dreams and Several Lucid dreams and obe's, Iattemptempted 5 days of obe's in a row and Did it! I use the rollover technique mixed with staring at Third eye region in between my brow. i visualize my body rotating slowly in a 360 degree motion all while still focusing on my third eye and maintaing a steady breath(takes alot of practice but the results are amazing). After about 10 to 15 mins or so i begin to feel the sleep paralysis start to take hold, not really focusing on it, just letting nature take its course. I no longer Hear rushing Sounds or Long Beeps i Simply wait it out and over and over in my mind i say "IM GOING TO HAVE AN OBE!", and then in a blink of an eye my astral body really begins to rotate out of my body onto the floor of my Room! I then start to look at My Hands Over and Over again by flipping my palm until the room brightens up!(spinning around in a circle helps to prolong your lucid dreams and obes also) Works for me 98% of the time, other times i just simply find my self outside of my body just standing there as if i just teleported with the room already in Clear view. I can pretty much have O.B.E's on Demand Now and have shown a Couple other's this technique and it worked out ok for them but Defintly try to find what suites you best and just Remember Intent in The Key Here. Your intention must Be Clear in order for you to consistantly have Obe's.
Wholeness to All! I had Post i put on Here about Shared Dreaming At the beginning of this Year check it out i Believe it can also be Helpful! :) I love the fact that So much attention is being Placed on the Innerverse! Lets Keep This Energy Cycling!

New update to this discussion. My husband had a dream he had died and was inside an object held by a friend of our son, talking to this friend while in the object was difficult for friend to come to terms with, eventually friend arrived at our home which is where I came into the dream as a shared experience. My immediate family was all present at time friend of son announced my husband was in object. We had to hold object to talk to husband. Then dream shifted approx 5 years in future youngest daughter was then about 11-13 and I was sitting on bed holding object as husband very emotionally had to explain to me why he had to go. but that he would still be here for the important dates like graduations and weddings, It had started out speaking to youngest daughter quite often then as the years went by gradually waned to only a few times in 6 months. He explained he needed new experiences and to make sure I explained to our youngest daughter everything was going to be alright, and that if any of us passed beyond that he would be there to help them so they would not have to be afraid. It was a very emotional dream. the effects lasted about 5-6 days for my husband who is not a crying sort of person, the first two days were intense crying for him. I was in the dream with him and shared most of the conversation. we were shocked in the morning after when we were talking about it while he was crying.
