* it can also be symbolic of the male and feminine energies coiling the spine (another reference to the Rod of Aesculapius) or maybe the "Rod of Ascension". Its interesting to see, those attempting to wrestle the "energies" themselves end up getting bound by them, and the ones whom appear faithful (for lack of a better word), are free. Interesting!
