I just came across this very interesting article on soulless portals, which are basically people who don't have souls and don't realize it.  They basically unknowingly steal energy from those with souls and mirror back that energy.  It's stated that the soulless people are not evil but are being used by 4th dimensional beings to control the souled individuals and keep them from fully activating and escaping control.
