There are many legitimate websites for medicinal herbs, detox herbs, etc. One can usually find a health food store to purchase herbs. If that is not an option, researching local free-growing herbs is also possible. For example, dandelion root is one of the healthiest tonics known, and dandelions grow most anywhere! The leaves and roots can be boiled into tea fresh but are more potent dried. One can simply pull a plant up roots and all, wash it, dry it, then boil in water for approx 15 minutes. I like to add chunks of fresh ginger and whole cloves to the boiling water also. Sometimes a cinnamon stick. Makes a brew that will clear you out! The beauty of all this is that many of these items are laying around our kitchens. Turmeric, cumin, cream of tartar. ALL excellent cleansers for the body.
Many herbs are easy to grow in an herbal garden or even in a windowsill. An amazing herb for fatigue, anxiety and depressed mood is lemon balm. Fresh or dried boiled into tea. Bee balm leaves work wonders for colds and sinus issues. Mint always a good pick-me-up and amazing for upset stomachs, etc. etc.
One of the most amazing things I have discovered is an old Native American salve called Balm of Gilead or simply cottonwood salve. Recipes under that name can be found on the internet. One basically only needs cottonwood trees and extra virgin olive oil. The result is miraculous. Better than neosporin for cuts, etc. Totally nontoxic and excellent for children (bited, burns, scrapes, diaper rash......). A friend was recently bitten by a hobo spider, a serious bite that can cause damaged tissue. He rubbed the balm on it and within a couple of days the bite was gone.

Nice post Jana. I have been thinking about natural remedies lately also. I absolutely love turmeric! I add the power to whatever i can. I'm taking supplements like Reishi mushroom extract, Fo Ti root, Gota Kola, and Mucuna Purriens. I haven't so much as even had a cold all winter while being around sick people. Also recently found out about Turkey Tail Mushroom (Trametes versicolor) which does wonders for the immune system. Chia seeds both superfood & medicine

Another resource is essential oils. I have seen and heard of many amazing results using pure essential oils. One must be sure they are pure as there are many imposters. Two I know of are Butterfly Essential oils which are created here in Southeast Idaho, and Doterra (links below). I am sure there are others but I have personal experience with those two.
