gateways and portals

Wholeness everyone. I am from saint Louis, Missouri and on my way to work everyday I have to pass the saint Louis arch. One day I looked up at the arch and thought to myself is the gateway arch really some type of portal. If anyone can give me any innerstanding on this it will be truly helpful. Wholeness
